Our Story
2014
A chance encounter at a Charles Henderson High School football game led to the idea that would become Deloney & Gandy Timber. John and Malachi started the business at the Deloneys’ kitchen table. The company operations relocated to a camper in the backyard before eventually moving to the old farmhouse out back. With the help of John’s wife Jennifer, the business started to grow.
2016
Fred Prawius and Rush Coan joined the team, expanding the company service area. John and Malachi remained focused on south central Alabama, while Fred and Rush worked throughout the state.
2017
Christina Duncan joined the company and learned all the ins and outs of the timber industry while working from the farmhouse office. During this time a second business was formed - Deloney & Gandy Logging. This allowed greater control over production quality and improved safety.
2018
Our office staff increased with the addition of an accountant to further assist Jennifer with our company’s growth
2019
Mike Conaway traded the heat of New Mexico for the heat of south Alabama to join our team of foresters and timber buyers.
2021
The Timber and Logging companies moved to their current location in Troy, renovating the former Floyd Construction building on Highway 231.
2022
As our team in the field has grown, so has our office staff. We have added full-time and part-time employees, as well as college interns.
